How to Start Your Salesforce Career
Salesforce is the world's #1 CRM platform, used by over 150,000 companies. A practical path into a Salesforce Administrator career, certification by certification.
With a Salesforce Administrator certification and some experience, a starting salary in the $70,000-$80,000 range is realistic, and demand is high for administrators who specialize in business analysis, development, or architecture. Getting there typically takes 4-6 months of focused study, not the two years it might seem like from the outside.
The Salesforce Associate certification is the easiest entry point and can be completed in 2-3 weeks using free resources like Talent Stacker's Associate course and Salesforce's own Trailhead platform, which includes free practice environments. The Salesforce Administrator certification, the much harder credential, is the real foundation for the rest of the Salesforce ecosystem.
It's also fine to start interviewing before certifications are finished. Treating early interviews as practice, learning from what goes wrong, and trying again is a legitimate way to build real interview skill alongside the technical study.
